Girls Rugby Awarded Daniel’s Fund Grant to Support Colorado Program Growth and Expansion

Denver, CO — Girls Rugby, Inc. is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a generous grant from the Daniels Fund to support the growth and expansion of its Girls Rugby Colorado program over the next year. This funding will enable Girls Rugby to reach more young girls across Colorado, providing them with opportunities to stay active, build confidence, and develop essential life skills through the sport of rugby.

The Daniels Fund is renowned for its commitment to youth development programs that positively impact the lives of young people. This grant aligns with its mission to support initiatives that foster youth development and well-being and increase access to youth sports programs.

“We are proud to support Girls Rugby, Inc. and their mission to empower young female athletes with transformative experiences,” said Hanna Skandera, President and CEO of the Daniels Fund. “Organizations like this instill essential qualities such as grit, resilience, and hard work — skills that benefit our girls both on and off the field.”

“We are incredibly grateful to the Daniels Fund for their support and belief in our mission,” said Erin Kennedy, CEO of Girls Rugby. “This grant will allow us to expand our programming in Colorado, reaching more underserved communities and having a greater impact on our participants. With this support, we can continue to empower young girls through the sport of rugby, helping them to realize their full potential.”

The Girls Rugby Colorado program focuses on girls aged 6-14, providing them with a safe and supportive environment to learn and play flag rugby. The program emphasizes not only physical activity but also the development of core values such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience.

This expansion will include increased access to the program for underserved communities, advanced coaching resources, and enhanced outreach efforts to introduce more families to the benefits of the Girls Rugby experience. By removing barriers to participation and promoting inclusivity, Girls Rugby aims to create a lasting positive impact on the lives of young girls in Colorado.

Girls Rugby Colorado currently has eight team locations in the Denver metro area and offers a fall and a spring program. For more information about Girls Rugby and its programs in Colorado, please visit www.girlsrugbyinc.com/colorado.
