We are excited to welcome Marguerite Brodt to the Girls Rugby Colorado team as our Program Manager. Marguerite’s strong background in youth sports, community building and social work, combined with her passion for empowering young girls, sets her up to hit the ground running as she works to increase awareness and grow our programs in Colorado.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and a bit of your background
I am a Colorado native and grew up playing and living in the mountains. After college and graduate school my husband and I traveled and lived abroad for many years. Now we are permanently back in Colorado raising our two young boys and golden retriever puppy.
Why did you want to work with Girls Rugby?
Sports and athletics have always been a valuable part of my young and adult life giving me community and character. The Girls Rugby programs mission to instill core values into practice along with rugby skills and team development really spoke to me personally.
Why is empowering young girls important to you?
I have my masters in social work and have seen first hand how empowering young girls can improve their self worth, good decision making and mental health.
What is an important value that you think is important for girls to learn?
Coaching and teaching the girls core values like determination will launch them into success on and off the field.
What are you most looking forward to with the upcoming season?
I am so excited to be a part of the Girls Rugby team, I know that now more than ever girls are rising up to greatness and pushing through every glass ceiling. I want to help foster this next great generation of girls.
What’s a fun fact about yourself?
Fun fact about me I have spent over one hundred hours underwater scuba diving and am even in a German movie, as a body double, diving for treasures.
